As part one of the safest and most trusted financial institutions, the BNY Mellon Legal department mitigates risk and handles legal affairs to ensure the security of the company and its clients. BNY Mellon's Legal Department, has overall responsibility for government affairs and advises on advocacy and policy initiatives of the company to support BNY Mellon's domestic and international operations, and they also support all bank regulatory and supervisory issues.
Description
This position assists the Regional Security Manager in the execution of specific programs (i.e., fire/life safety, building security management), implements proactive mitigants to reduce security incidents, conduct risk assessments and oversee the installation of security systems and protective programs. The department programs managed by this position include the the fire/life safety program (which develops emergency teams for all sites, conducts drills, procures life safety equipment and coordinates life safety training), risk assessment review program (which facilitates the review of all Company locations on a scheduled basis), deliver security and life safety training to employee base and act as the on-site emergency response lead. Further, this position investigates fraudulent and illegal activities perpetrated by customers and/or employees as well as directing investigations involving accidents, security incidents, and theft of company or personal property. This position works close the Company's Legal Department on making sound decisions regarding filing Suspicious Activity Reports. Assists local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and testifies in court as required.

This position must have strong law enforcement and peer group relationships, be familiar with the concepts, practices and procedures followed by the LOB's within his/her area of responsibility. This position will assist the Regional Security Manager in providing Executive Protection to assigned protectees in the region's area of responsibility. This position will accompany the Regional Security Manager to meetings involving business units, law enforcement, government agencies, and peer groups. The incumbent will supervise and manage the contract guard staff. Bachelors Degree. Graduate Degree preferred. 5 years Security- Physical and Investigative. 10 Years Law Enforcement or Security Industry preferred. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (ACAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Interview and Interrogation Training, Investigator training.
