Special Operation Forces (SOF) Specialist is responsible for providing a detailed, linked, and complex SOF training environment during all training rotations. This capability will function as SOF SME planner during exercise development; coordinate SOF force involvement, and serve as a SOF SME resource during exercise execution. This posting is part of a search for employees on a contract pending award.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Create SOF Rotational Target Designs within Rotation Training Unit’s training tasks/requirements which include Foreign Internal Defense FID, Unconventional Warfare UW, Direct Action DA, Special Recon e SR, Combat Search and Rescue CSAR, Escape and Evasion E&E, Counterterrorism CT, and Counter Insurgency (COIN) missions. Furthermore, create and submit electronic request in a MS Word document for all classes of supplies and materials using standard documents within the US Army supply system.
Schedule range usage during the Quarterly GTA Range Conference in order to support SOF Live Fire Exercises, International Special Training Centre (ISTC) and Commander’s In-extremis Force (CIF) training as specified by the SOF Planner. The contractor will attend the range conference at Grafenwoehr Training Area every month and request ranges that SOF training at Hohenfels and/or Grafenwoehr. The contractor will send weekly emails to SOF customers and follow the email up with monthly teleconferences to coordinate for needed ranges.
Schedule Safety and Range Safety Officer (RSO) classes.
Coordinate and submit training area access and usage request to training areas within the Joint Multinational Training Command (JMTC), Local Training Areas (LTA) within Germany under German Military control, and training areas in partnering NATO countries as determined by the SOF Planner. Submit requests four months prior to the units’ arrival. The SOF Planner and JMRC Exercise Lead Planner are the approval authorities for these activities.
Create SOF Exercise Products, including exercise biographies for High-Value-Individuals (HVI) and Role Players, talking points for Role Players, and exercise synopsis AAR.
Coordinate and facilitate SOF Connected Forces Initiative (CF-I) to ensure interconnectedness and interoperability into all echelons of the training exercise. Gain approval from the SOF Planner and JMRC Intelligence Planner 30 days prior to the exercise.
Coordinate and facilitate range execution and Resistance Force integration for Range Week.
Coordinate the SOF logistics for the scheme of maneuver (equipment systems; standing operating procedures; tactics, techniques, and procedures; and the geopolitical sensitivities) in the training exercise.
Gather and combine AAR data of SOF Imperatives (Understand the operational environment, Recognize political implications, Facilitate interagency activities, Engage the threat discriminately, Consider long-term effects, Ensure legitimacy and credibility of Special Operations, Anticipate and control psychological effects, Apply capabilities indirectly, Develop multiple options, Ensure long-term Sustainment, Provide sufficient intelligence, Balance security and synchronization) during SOF training for preparation of SOF AARs.
Deliver and present formal (other than Green Book) SOF AARs.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Required Education and Experiences
Master’s degree in POL/MIL Science or General Management with 5 years military service
OR
Bachelor’s degree with 10 years military service

Desired Skills and Qualifications
Minimum 5 years SOF operator experience with strong knowledge of tactical level SOP operations; OEF/OIF experience
USSOCOM Operations (emphasis on CJSOTF TTP including
Excellent written/verbal communications
Write concisely
Make presentations
Describe and explain complex issues concisely
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Secret Level Clearance for access to classified information.
