Security Assistant Managers (SAM) are supervisors who assist the Vice President of Security, the Director of Security, and the Supervisory SAM in providing direct oversight and management of security personnel who staff the following positions: Security Officers, Security Leads, and Traffic Officers. Additionally, SAM’s work in concert with uniformed local law enforcement officers and non-uniformed local and state off-duty Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) to enforce the Dodger code of conduct for both fans and guests as well as to facilitate the most effective response and/or mitigation strategy across a variety of unique crowd management situations and incidents. A Security Assistant Manager will be part of the Security deployment for both baseball games and selected special events.

Job Functions:
• Represent the Los Angeles Dodgers in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner.
• Comply with all attendance, conduct, and performance policies.
• Effectively lead and build a spirit-de-corps among Security personnel.
• Diffuse guest concerns with the highest degree of timeliness, tact, and diplomacy.
• Foster an environment that protects Los Angeles Dodger assets, guests, and employees.
• Assist the Vice President and Director of Security in leading, orienting, and reinforcing current policy, procedure, and training material to Security staff/officers.
• Assist, as needed, in game scheduling and security staff deployment planning for a variety of events held at Dodger Stadium.
• Understand and operationalize emergency management plans and evacuation procedures on short notice and under duress if the situation warrants.
• Ensure the accurate documentation of information on arrest forms, field interview cards, and incident reports in alignment with all protocols and procedures.
• Respond to or provide the required resources to satisfy various Security requests in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Manage stadium incidents that result from directed, initiated, or requested activity.
• Complete assigned tasks within allotted deadlines.
• Comply with all legal and ethical instructions.
• Conduct timely and thorough investigations or fact-finding for complete and accurate incident reports.
• Provide solution-oriented approaches, including relevant findings and recommendations.
• Employ effective listening to quickly understand the nature of guest complaints.
• Properly address complex crowd management issues and other security-related situations.
• Perform pre-game, in-game, and post-game managerial duties.
• Conduct pre-game, post-game, and “lessons learned” briefings.
• Liaison effectively with all Dodger Stadium guests.
• Maintain proper dress and grooming consistent with Los Angeles Dodger policy.
• Inspect event/game day staff to ensure compliance with Dodger appearance policy.
• Distribute and communicate staff assignments.
• Monitor staff attendance and performance.
• Open and supervise turnstiles according to bag/visual inspection and security procedures.
• Initiate and supervise patrol activities involving restrooms, stairwells, and other areas.
• Initiate and enforce ejections and warnings for violation of Dodger policy or relevant law.
• Monitor alcoholic beverage activities, recognizing illegal and/or improper behavior.
• Collect, review, approve, and submit required reports or digital video records.
• Direct and manage people during emergency situations.
• Memorize, recall, and quickly retrieve relevant information.
• Effectively present information, respond to questions, and professionally relate to people.
• Adapt to changes in different tasks and/or assignments.
• Perform effectively under pressure and crisis without loss of composure.
• Maintain work attendance and punctuality.
• Effectively interact with angry or emotionally-driven individuals during intense or confrontational situations.
• Work evenings, weekend, and holidays as needed.
• Be in good health and able to handle a physically demanding environment that includes long periods of standing, walking, and possible stair-climbing.

Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
• Have High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education/ experience.
• Be no less than 18 years of age.
• Have two or more years of experience in supervising and leading law enforcement, military, or fire service subordinates with strong teamwork etiquette.
• Have excellent English communication & interpersonal skills; bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.
• Have a valid California Guard Card and a valid California Class C Driver License.
• Pass a pre-employment background check, which includes employment eligibility, prior employment verification, and criminal history check.
• Have a strong teamwork approach and work ethic.
• Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret Los Angeles Dodgers’ procedures and government regulations.
• Understand California administrative and penal codes, and the incident command system.
• Knowledge of and a passion for professional baseball is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications is a plus.
