Job Description
Serves as an instructor and subject matter expert on small unit tactical infantry operations in a counter-insurgency environment. Supports training using the IIT, DVTE, and in a classroom environment. Subject areas to be taught cover the full spectrum of infantry and combined arms combat including Close Quarters Battle (CQB), Cordon and Search Operations, mounted and dismounted operations, weapons employment, dismounted patrolling techniques, call for fires, Convoy Operations, IED/Anti IED operations, urban warfare tactics, Vehicle Check points and force protection.
Conducts Tactics, Force Protection (FP) and Anti-terrorism (AT) training to include MOT-P, Urban Warfare, and tactics. Conducts training, practical exercises, and assists in evaluations of student performance. Also designs lessons, assists in exercise development, and creates scenarios and exercises. Conduct post-event critique and analysis employing various after action review systems. Develops, and organizes lesson plans and materials based on lessons ;learned, TTPs, etc. Develops new training materials and revises existing classes as required. Participate in and conducts reviews and structured walk-through of simulation events and training, operation orders and plans, and information gathering requirements. Provide analysis during exercises and attends conferences and meetings at both the resident site and other locations off-site.
Qualifications:
Civilian Education. High School degree required plus 3 years of experience.
Military Education. Has completed Professional Military Education in accordance with rank acquired.
Military/Government Experience. Military experience (e.g., retired/former SNCO or Company Grade Officer) with combat arms skills background. Minimum three years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the squad through company. Recent experience operating in a combat zone in the last four years preferred Military Instructor experience preferred. Currency with TTPs, Lessons Learned, and OPFOR from recent real world operations preferred. Experience in curriculum development desired.
Must currently possess a secret clearance.
