Job Summary
The Force Protection Specialist manages and executes information and intelligence collection. Processing pertinent ground, air and water based conventional and unconventional warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures as it pertains to the Security and Force Protection of the Program’s
Forward Operating Locations (FOLs).
Principal Accountabilities
Train and maintain proficiency in all major duties to include, but not limited to physical security, planning, advisory, assistance, coordination, inspection, operations, dissemination, management, maintenance, cell infrastructure design, deployment, support, quality control and safety.
Provide accurate, timely, tactical and technical guidance to program directors, operations, and indigenous and allied personnel as required.
Receive tasking from program directors or operations and works closely with other elements on the deployment, operation, or program in collecting, processing and dissemination of intelligence information.
Performs intelligence and operational duties as tasked in support of Force Protection and FOL security.
Interface on a regular basis with the local military intelligence offices and pertinent law enforcement agencies to insure we obtain the most current information as it relates to the safety of U.S. contractor personnel on the sites.
Ensure Site Manager and all American site personnel are fully aware of current threat and Threat/Force Protection Condition (THREATCON/ FPCON) on a daily basis and are kept current as to any security contingency which could affect site operations.
Ensure all site-contracted personnel follow rules and regulations set forth by Site Manager, Operations Coordinator (OPSCO) or Base Commanders (Policia Nacional Colombiana (PNC) or Colombian Army (COLAR).
Responsible for ensuring that systems are in place to facilitate the protection of DynCorp personnel and equipment.
Complete a security surveys of the site to which assigned. This survey includes a detailed threat analysis; route surveys, hotel surveys, keyhole surveys, Emergency Action Plans, Perimeter Defense
Plans and other reports deemed necessary for that location.
Conduct safety familiarization and live-fire training on light weapons (M16A2, M4, 9mm pistol).
Perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of intelligence theory, techniques, hardware, software and special equipment used in the employment, operation and maintenance of ongoing and pending operations.
General knowledge of airborne, airmobile platforms and specific capabilities as it pertains to intelligence operations.
Strong organizational skills, project management and interpersonal communication abilities in both English and Spanish.
Proven ability to manage multi tasks with competing priorities and an unwavering ability of self-control.
Excellent customer service skills in a high-pressure environment.
Possess the ability to work in the field under austere conditions.
Possess excellent decision- making process skills.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with Host Nation Security and Intelligence agencies.
Proven interpersonal skills and experience working within South America.
Thorough general knowledge on force protection, intelligence operations, product collection and production and associated tasks including: intelligence cycle procedures and production, human intelligence operations, signal intelligence operations, electronic intelligence operations, developing and emerging intelligence operations, warning, rations and fragmentation orders, briefing and instruction techniques, formal and improvisational, photography, fingerprinting and classification, map, chart and blueprint reading, plotting and construction, land navigation, area specialty team operations, analysis and production, debrief, interrogation and solicitation techniques, drawing, sketching, measuring and determining distance.
Knowledge of intelligence deployable equipment, logistical support and movement of tactical systems in response to urgent requirements, route planning, reconnaissance, escape and evasion techniques.
Knowledge of basic survival, cache and first aid techniques.
Ability to reads and writes properly and to provide interpretation of tactical and technical data is required.
Ability to read and write Spanish with a proficiency level two (2).
Possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport before assignment if U.S. citizen.
Possess or the ability to obtain a Secret Security clearance through the Department of Defense (DoD) is a condition of employment; an active DoD Secret Security Clearance is preferred.

Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Ten (10) or more years’ experience working with various special units relating to intelligence, such as special forces, rangers, navy seals, air force combat/control, delta, regional security team, area security team, special operations forces or force recon.
Five (5) or more years management experience preferred.
Five (5) or more years’ experience working in intelligence and with intelligence equipment and procedures.
Prior military, including direct support to military operations and special operations experience and training preferred.
Prior overseas experience and experience instructing foreign military personnel.
Certificates of graduation from military schools or civilian Force Protection and Intelligence schools.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps ladders and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
My be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of 4 feet and be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of seven feet.
May be required to carry, push or pull 50 pounds.
Ability to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure may be required.
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts.

Travel
Extensive and extended travel may be required.
Travel to and between CONUS and OCONUS locations and for continued education/training may be required.
