Base Support Vehicle Equipment Manager

Job Description
Position is contingent upon award of the project.
Responsible for providing a safe, reliable, and effective equipment maintenance program. Ensures equipment is maintained according to technical directives and manufacturer’s specifications, while maintained at customer directed operational / in commission rates. Establishes preventive maintenance program and coordinates all equipment and vehicle maintenance support actions for the assigned area.

Duties and Responsibilites
Organizes and directs activities required to maintain and repair assigned base vehicle fleet, support equipment and associated components.
Responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are repaired according to priority of need and following prescribed repair cycle or timeframe.
Utilizes a Computerized Equipment Maintenance System (MAXIMO) to manage and schedule workload, develop strategies for maintenance efficiencies, and track actions.
Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of parts and supplies to ensure timely maintenance actions.
Ensures compliance with company, OSHA and DOD safety policies.
Responsible for training and development of less experienced personnel
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree, or (10) years of technical experience in maintenance operations.
Four (4) or more years in maintenance management or leadership role is preferred.
Professional certification and specialized training in diesel mechanics and advanced repair techniques desired.
Previous assignments and recent work history support Navy or DOD BOS operations in austere or remote environments. Experience in contingency support operations desired.
Ability to adjust to emergency, changing requirements with minimum sacrifice to quantity or quality of work.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge or techniques in work prioritization and supervisory skills for management of mixed labor force.
Working knowledge or exposure to lean techniques or quality improvement processes highly desired.
Excellent customer relations, communication, leadership, and inter-personal skills.

Additional requirements:
Must be fluent in English
Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
