Intelligence Analyst (Law Enforcement)Assembles, collates, analyzes, and interprets raw intelligence and investigative data from a multitude of internal and external sources, assessing the data for significance, validity and reliability. This intelligence is gathered from diverse law enforcement agencies and the intelligence community encompassing domestic and international activities associated with the illegal drug trade, including cultivation, production, money laundering, financial networking and trafficking of illegal drugs. Implements NDIC’s Document and Media Exploitation(DOMEX) methodology involving the extraction and linking of data from a body of evidence to create a relational database of information.
A DOMEX Intelligence Analyst(IA) examines all source material seized and enters information derived from the material into a specialized database relating all data entries back to the material where the data was found. Subsequently, a DOMEX Analyst analyzes the information in the specialized database, makes findings, and generates leads for law enforcement personnel to prosecute. The DOMEX IA may also develop other supporting analytical products such as link analysis charts, timelines, etc. and may also be required to provide briefings and draft reports. Additionally, the DOMEX IA may support contract management duties such as quarterly reports and progress reviews.
.This position requires related LE experience and ability to meet appropriate Clearance requirements. Spanish fluency is highly desireable.
Qualifications
Qualifications/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must possess strong computer skills and a background of working with teams of intelligence analysts in the production of intelligence/investigative products created to support federal investigations. Must have functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. It is beneficial for candidates to have a working knowledge of evidentiary chain of custody along with extensive evidence handling experience. Candidates with experience in one of more of the following professions are preferred: intelligence analysis, law enforcement, accounting, legal, and financial. It is favorable for candidates to be able to read, speak, and write Spanish fluently and skills with other foreign languages may also be helpful. A Secret clearance is required for this position.
AA or 2 year Technical School preferred along with 3 years of experience as an Intelligence Analyst or Criminal Investigator. An additional 4 years of direct relevant experience may be substituted for education. Candidates must possess very strong liaison and interpersonal skills and should be a proficient writer and briefer.
