Position Description:
As a member of the property management department the AVP, Security Relations works closely with appropriate representatives of third party security services to ensure all contractual obligations are met and the quality of program within the region is maintained. The AVP, Security and Guest Services works closely with the VP, Property Management and VP, Security to ensure the company’s security policies and procedures are followed and metrics and goals are met within the region.
Functions:
Establish and foster relationships with law enforcement.
Liaison with local law enforcement, city government and tenant loss prevention agents.
Act as an advocate for Macerich in the law enforcement community.
Prepare and present to VP’s relevant crime statistics at the national and local level.
Maintain an intimate knowledge of the assigned properties and their communities in order to act as a strategic resource to achieve operational excellence.
Work closed with VP, Property Management and VP, Security in all security related issues including serious security incidents, property security forecasts and major equipment purchases.
Initial business partner contact with regional and property representatives of the third party security provider for property issues within the region.
Conduct periodic, in depth, inspections at each assigned property to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations of the third party security provider.
Work closely with VP, Property Management and VP, Marketing to ensure guest service program processes are followed and program objectives are met.
Partner with Human Resources on employee relations issues when needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
College degree required.
Minimum 5 years law enforcement experience required. Position must have had supervisory, compliance and investigatory responsibilities.
A background in serving customers, proven management skills, a broad knowledge of all human resources functions and collaborating with other disciplines.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
