Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Security, the purpose of this role is to lead the programs, people and security systems responsible for all life safety issues involving operations employees, guests and vendors. Additionally this position will administer proactive and responsive investigations of any situations, which may adversely affect the restaurant's life safety, resources or assets and ensure visibility to actionable conclusions.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Build ownership and accountability with operations leadership of safe and secure workplace through policies and best practices, to include external benchmarking and networking and continuous personal development to ensure current knowledge of security trends, equipment, etc.
-Ownership of crisis management protocols including training, communications and thorough follow up post-incident to identify appropriate learnings
-Manage the "life-safety" activities necessary to protect all Restaurant Support Center employees, guests, vendors and general public, including but not limited to: premise control, guest registration, and monitoring center operations
-Serve as intelligence liaison with law enforcement and other governmental agencies
-Serves as security subject matter expert for the enterprise, providing leadership regarding Life Safety Provide analysis and appropriate recommendations with respect to RSC and operations physical security policies and practices
-Analyzes and assess local risk proactively and provides expertise and insight as liaison with regional operators to target markets with local and national crime related issues.
-Guide proactive and responsive investigations of any situations which may adversely affect restaurant or property life safety, resources or assets, e.g., criminal activity, violations of company policy, violence, threats, and property loss.
-Supports the development and management of communications and programs that promote best practices and a safe and secure work environment, such as the operations security commitments and security manuals appropriately branded for operational differences, etc.
-Ensure compliance practices across multiple brands are consistently communicated and upheld, partnering with operations to identify and approve variances as appropriate
-Manage team of Corporate Security officers. Responsibilities include training, scheduling, performance management, personal development plans and individual and team engagement and recognition
-Manage the 24-hour/7 day per week crisis interview services for all Darden Restaurants, as required, with immediate response and assistance in situations involving actual or potential risk to employees, guests or vendors
-Oversees Security officer interaction with operations management and Employee Relations team to ensure effective and efficient resolution of issues
-Maintain a working knowledge of security vendor technology and protocols.to assist Operations
-Management in finding cost effective security vendors
REQUIRED TECHNICALSKILLS:
-Minimum of 5+ plus years in Law Enforcement Life Safety and Security Services in a major service corporation
-Minimum of 5+ plus years of leadership experience in working with national account security solution vendors
-Minimum of 5+ plus years of progressive responsibility and leadership experience with a strong emphasis on all phases of security management
-Proven ability to lead Crisis Management Programs in emergency situations.
-Experience supervising and conducting complex investigations involving asset recovery, internal loss and policy violations.
-Expertise in crime resolution and resource allocation.
-Experience in delivering professional training programs in varying formats and locations
-Full understanding of access control and physical asset protection systems from design to implementation.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
-BS or BA degree or equivalent in criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, or loss prevention
OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
-Ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
-Proven ability to manage and supervise in a team environment, which encourages individual diversity.
-Demonstrate and lead with customer first commitment and performance.
-Must have 24 hour/ 7 day per week on call status and after hours, weekend and holidays
-Frequent and possibly unplanned travel required
