Director of Physical Security Operations

Description: The area: Real Estate and Workplace Services (REWS). The role: Director of Physical Security Operations. excellence. You will protect Google assets, coordinate security for events and prepare for timely incident response with forward thinking methods while making sure our workers are valued, respected and cared for.

As the Director of Physical Security Operations, you will work cross-functionally to develop a service strategy consistent with Google-wide security policies. You will receive support in your efforts from other Physical Security team members from Design & Innovation, Investigations & Intelligence, and Safety as well as other Google teams including Operations, Legal and Compliance. You will have direct staff to support you.

Responsibilities:
Define and implement security for offices and data centers. Providing Security consulting and partnering with REWS and business units.
Assume ownership of the ongoing risk assessment program and establishing quarterly and yearly security and risk assessment plans. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of security systems and practices.
Oversee vendors including consultants and security service providers, with a focus on performance based service levels and fiscal responsibility.
Analyze and problem solve for specific security challenges in Google’s growth and operations.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS in Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field. In lieu of degree, 12 years of relevant experience 8 years of similar or related experience in physical security or compliance with 5 years experience in a managerial capacity.
Preferred qualifications:
CPP or PSP certifications.
Ability to articulate security in your area, documenting both short-term plans and long-term strategy.
Demonstrated understanding of physical security strategies, policies, principles, procedures, and standards.
Ability to think critically through the intricacies of complex situations, with a knack for persuasion and negotiation.
Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in defining access control policies and governance, asset protection best practices and as well as in supply chain security, business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
