The Role:
Bloomberg is seeking a regional manager of physical security and risk operations in the Americas. Based in New York City, this role is focused on achieving the highest level of safety and security while enabling Bloomberg’s business by mitigating risks to our people, facilities and business operations. The successful candidate will assess and prioritize identified risks and direct the workflow associated to mitigating these in the areas of: employee safety and security, site security, security systems, crisis and incident management, and business continuity.
As the leader of a fast-paced, dynamic team you will be instrumental in contributing to the execution of our core goals:
- Lead our regional risk management efforts in the areas of safety and security
- Manage a large department budget, identifying efficiencies without introducing new risks
- Benchmark with partners and peers in the industry to identify and share best practices, and bring new, innovative ideas back to the Company
- Lead incident management execution across the region, ensuring teams are trained and supported
- Ensure local accountability for better management of incidents
- Escalate and communicate to leadership
- Work within the Crisis Management team, focusing on Security operations and incident response
- Build relationships with regional peers and leaders across the region to better understand their needs and those of the offices they operate in
- Identify how Security can influence these and then implement changes where required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven and successful experience in a leadership role
- Highly skilled at developing relationships and rapport with key stakeholders, including partnering effectively with key business lines within the organization
- Understanding of emergency management, life safety policy and security and systems integration
- Demonstrated change management, project management and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience of managing large budgets above $5M
- Ability to analyze threat and prioritize risk mitigation
- Experience of assessing and executing operational contingency plans based on threats and exposure to business operations and staff
- Experience in integrating and improving travel security programmes, particularly in hostile environments and emerging markets
- Proven experience of developing and implementing security policies and procedures

- Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship management skills including directing & coordinating virtual teams to achieve deliverables
