Job Description
Duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing all security department related tasks that are assigned to Plant Protection Officers. The security supervisor acts as an emergency first responder to various health, facility and environmental emergencies, reviewing and approving incident reports, completing schedules and
related operational documents, inspecting the condition of security posts / officers, processing weekly status reports, training of new security officers and investigation / follow-up of incidents.
The security supervisor is also the communications link between security leadership and Plant Protection Officers.
Extensive experience with force protection matters and physical security operations to include: knowledge of basic security principles, security policies/requirements, security training, familiarity with protection level assets and protection requirements and experience conducting security assessments.
Able to recognize personnel and operational problems recommend and implement immediate resolutions.
Ability to function with personnel from all levels of the corporation including senior staff personnel.
Evaluate and recommend process improvements along with identification and analysis of potential trends related to incidents.
Demonstrate excellent writing and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
Excellent people and communications skills are a must.
Should have a working knowledge of state of the art security methodologies and technical advances in access control and alarm equipment.
Position is responsible for all Plant Protection Officers assigned to their shift.
Ensure and evaluate quality and knowledge of security personnel.
Work closely with departmental peers to support security objectives.
Maintain communication between management-level and plant protection employees.
Maintain operation knowledge of all equipment in Central Security and all other posts.
Interact with other facility supervisory personnel to achieve goals and meet project deadlines.
Develop officer new-hire and remedial training materials.
Compile weekly status reports for security management and perform miscellaneous duties.
Qualifications
High school diploma and or seven to ten years of related experience.
Must be eligible to obtain / maintain US Top Secret security clearance and ability for certification by the Texas Commission on Private Security.
Five to seven years of corporate / contractor multi-campus or military, law enforcement or experience with five years as direct supervisor or manager in charge of security officer function.
Manufacturing and or high technology environment, preferably in aerospace and defense or government.
Successful applicant must have an understanding of databases such as Diamond II, Incident Report, Access Commander or other indusry related databases. Solid functional knowledge of security requriments for NISPOM.
Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, Industrial Security, Law Enforcement, Information Security Technology or related field preferred.
Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
