MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Civilian Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Extensive knowledge of methods of instruction required.
Military Experience: Minimum of ten years experience in military training and education. Working knowledge of training aids, simulations, and devices required. A minimum of four years of operational experience in employment of ground combat, aviation, and combat service support units in crisis response and contingency operations is required. Minimum of three years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships within the MEF. Operational deployment time with the Marine Expeditionary Unit s (MEUs) is preferred. Experience in, or a strong background in, MEU pre-deployment training is preferred. Knowledge of a variety of program management policies, concepts, practices, and principles in order to assess and develop recommendations for improvement in program operations and objectives is an advantage.

Will participate in Course Content Review Boards for Training and Education Command (TECOM) POIs for which the SOTGs are proponents and support agents submitting changes by reviewing output submissions to TECOM. Responsible for ensuring that all SOTG generated coursework follows the TECOM POI standard. Will conduct research and analysis of instructional material, equipment, facilities, and methods to meet course objectives and implemented changes to improve curriculum. Communicates with TECOM and other SOTGs on pertinent developments in training, POIs, and standards as necessary. Will develop POIs using Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS) and will oversee the development of course materials, such as study guides, visual aids, simulations, proficiency charts, training aids, handouts, and course and
instructional outlines. Responsible for assessing the impact of new material on other related courses of instruction and assisting the SOTG staff in the evaluation of new, or revised, lesson material to ensure content validity, adequacy, and relevance of content in accordance with applicable Marine Corps reference. Should be familiar with adult learning characteristics and able to design and develop training using various learning methodologies, meeting standards within Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
