- Are you an ambitious Security professional looking to join the Geismar, LA corporate security team?
- Do you have demonstrated knowledge of security systems and other physical security countermeasures?
- Have you conducted investigations as part of your prior Security Management experience?
- Do you have demonstrated knowledge of industrial security operations and services?
- Develops implements, coordinates and maintains security operations plans and processes (in accordance with governing regulations and policies) at the direction of the Site Security Manager. The Security Specialist serves as a subject matter expert on security-related matters to the site.
- Serve as the designated Information Protection Officer (IPO) and responsible for implementing the site’s Information Protection (IP) awareness program to mitigate information loss risks and in compliance with corporate direction.
- Coordinates with the local site’s security team and the broader corporate security team, contracted security provider, internal business and function counterparts, external officials and emergency responders while performing required duties.
- Information Protection: implement information protection strategies to include awareness and training.
- Plan and coordinate turnarounds focused on risk assessment of high volume/short term activities
- Logistics coordinator and weigh master supervisor
- Conduct investigations and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Conduct new hire orientation, employee, contractor, and security officer training.
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher degree
- Must have 5 or more years of experience in industrial security operations and services
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment in a security role is strongly preferred
- Experience with MTSA regulations, HM232, Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards, or similar regulatory protocols (preferred).
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of security hardware, alarm and video surveillance, access control systems, electronic security issues and safeguards and other security countermeasures
- Experience managing a contracted security guard force a strong plus
- Experience conducting investigations required
- Knowledge of federal and local law enforcement structure laws needed
- Must have a background that would not preclude the granting of a security clearance
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with senior level management and to influence others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to prioritize work and deliver against commitments and timelines
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification a plus
