Description
The primary role
of the Event Security Manager is to ensure the security and safe
execution of special events sponsored by Fox corporate entities in a
variety of locations and circumstances. This position must be able to
rapidly assess on-site security challenges in a range of locations and
settings, and then implement the appropriate best practices and
procedures to ensure the successful execution of the event.

- Provide security risk assessments of stadiums and other sporting arenas, theaters and stages, hotels, meeting rooms, red carpet areas and other event-related venues.
- Identify specific security vulnerabilities, including assessment of the general risk level of the area itself and its impact on factors such as transportation of event participants.
- Evaluate and coordinate existing on-site security resources.
- Establish strong working relationships with venue management and build consensus on their roles within the event security plan.
- Develop the requirements & budget for all manpower that will be needed for an event.
- Specify physical resources that will be required to maintain security, e.g., closed-circuit television, infrared equipment, metal detectors, barriers, etc.
- Develop an overall security plan for an event that addresses all aspects of security and safety planning.
- Create an emergency response and evacuation procedure and ensure it is understood and able to be applied by applicable event-related personnel.
- Create an all-encompassing security budget for the event.
- Coordinate with internal Fox business unit clients that sponsor large-scale special events in order to provide advice & to obtain key information throughout the event lifecycle.
- Liaise with high-profile talent and associated security staff to ensure their integration with the overall security plan.
- Oversee vendor support for the event, including monitoring of performance metrics and enforcement of security licensing and insurance requirements.
- Overall command, control and coordination of security & related logistics for the event.
- Is prepared to act as the Incident Commander for any security issues that arise at an event or a production site.
- Coordinate Fox Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) support for every event.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with appropriate local, state, federal and, as appropriate, international government agencies, such as law enforcement, traffic control, fire marshal, and emergency medical teams.
Qualifications
The Special Events Security Manager is experienced in the planning, design and implementation of security operations for various events or production sites. Experience, attributes and skills should include:
- At least five years’ work experience in security-related fields.
- Experience in the planning and implementation of security for events and productions.
- Experience in the basic principles of access control, CCTV and Intrusion systems.
- Experience in the assessment of risk and the provision of security advice, including the conduct of security assessments (personnel security, physical security and information security), and risk management.
- Knowledgeable about the Film and Production Industry.
- IT Literate: proficient in the use of MS office applications, specifically Word, EXCEL, SharePoint, Visio, Power Point and Outlook.
- Three to five years’ experience in a management position in a corporate security, consulting, law enforcement, or military organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Excellent public speaking, presentation and writing skills.
- Executive Protection Experience.
- Strong background in Security and Public Event Management.
- Significant executive protection experience with high profile individuals in travel and public settings.
- Proven leadership, management and customer service skills.
- Exceptional presentation and training skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, including senior management, vendors, guests and employees.
- Maintenance of a professional demeanor and appearance under all circumstances.
- Ability to think strategically and develop solutions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Project management skills: proficient in managing project deliverables, result-oriented and able to meet deadlines with minimum direct supervision.
- Superior written communication skills with experience in report writing.
- Strong team player with the ability to negotiate effectively to achieve objectives.
