This bargaining unit position will be located in a customer facility of the Security Department at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Kekaha, HI.
In addition to general security responsibilities, the Sergeant performs security duties protecting Federal Government property and persons against sabotage, theft, accidental damage, fire, disorders, destruction and unauthorized removal. Performs as the shift lead-person and oversees the operational control shift assigned. Sergeant must also be approved by department GTM before being able to conduct Armor Services.
Duties Include:
Provide Armor services for Contractor, DoN and Navy personnel.
Responsible for all AA&E with-in the RFI Vault. (maintenance, weapons functioning)
Conducts un-announced 100% inventories with DoN AA&E Custodian.
Maintains a daily inventory of all AA&E, Radio’s and NVG’s with-in the RFI Vault.
Responsible for reviewing of Desk Journals, Communications Logs, Inventory Sheets, Post Manning’s and Pass downs.
Assures all Guard Personnel complies with all PMRF Post Orders.
Must be skilled in:
(1) report-writing,
(2) gates and patrol procedures,
(3) traffic control,
(4) emergency actions/base closures,
(5) communications,
(6) crime scene prevention,
(7) physical security,
(8) loss & crime prevention,
(9) handling of classified information,
(10) weapons proficiency and qualification.
(11) waepons maintenance and functionality,
Performs other duties as required.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
Physical Activities/Elements:
Feet: Besides walking or standing, a Security Guard uses feet for activities such as driving/operating vehicles, getting onto or off vehicles, running, kicking.
Hands: Must be able to do complex grasping, assailant take downs and fine manipulations with both hands.
Lifting: Lifiting with a limit of over 50lbs (2 men required), Positions: Walking or standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped, sitting, work requiring occasionally climbing, Pushing/Pulling: Over 50lbs (2 men required). Environmental: Customer contact, extended work day, field assignment and inclement weather.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Possess a Hawaii State Driver’s license.
Experience:
Minimum of four years experience in the security field.
Two years of security or law enforment experience in a supervisory capacity desirable.
Must successfully complete all training programs, agility tests, drug screening and physical requirements.
Must be willing to work overtime when required or as assigned.
Knowledgeable of all emergency security operations and have the ability to operate communications and alarm systems contained in the dispatch office and direct all response actions of security and law enforcement forcs during emergency conditions.
Must possess the following PC skills: Word,Outlook and Other (various IDS systems assigned to dispatch office.)
Security Clearance
Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligiblity requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
