ITA currently has a job opening for a SMALL ARMS TECHNICIAN in support of Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC), Camp Pendleton, CA.
Responsibilities:
These positions will be responsible for the following:
- Assist MARSOC with executing organizational policies and procedures that comply with orders and directives governing U.S. Marine Corps Ground Ordnance Maintenance programs as a Small Arms Technician.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Conduct inspection, maintenance, and repair of small arms, complex weapon systems, to include vehicular mounted and associated Stock List 3 components for Marine Corps organic and Special Operations Force – Peculiar (SOF-P) weapon platforms. Assist with maintaining asset visibility of USMC organic and Special Operations Force (SOF) unique ground ordnance assets, collateral equipment and associated tools. Provide equipment life cycle management for utilization, modification, and repair data and input for the establishment and sustainment of weapons systems maintenance related programs. Perform technical research, utilize maintenance automated information systems, New Equipment Training (NET), and ensure operational readiness of assigned equipment.
- Ensure execution of assigned tasks are completed in accordance with organizational standards and established deadlines.
- A High School diploma or GED and at least six (6+) years related experience in the administration and execution associated with Small Arms Ground Ordnance Maintenance are required.
- Related experience must include operating associated automated information systems to include conducting asset visibility and Applicant must be proficient with the following Microsoft Office applications; Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Must possess well developed communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely maintenance reconciliations, validations, and research.
- Knowledge of Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), Asset Tracking Logistics and Supply System (ATLASS), Marine Corps Equipment Readiness Information Tool (MERIT), and Special Operations Forces Sustainment Asset Visibility and Information Exchange (SSAVIE) system is a plus.
- Must be proficient with the following Microsoft Office applications; Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Must possess well developed communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
Qualifications:

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Capable of obtaining an operators’ license for non-tactical/tactical Government-owned equipment and be certified to transport Arms Ammunition & Explosives (AA&E).
- Capable of passing the Arms Ammunition & Explosives screening package per MCO 5530.14A.
- Frequent travel to provide ordnance maintenance support at offsite training locations will be required in the performance of duties.
- Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
