Job Description
The purpose of this position is to manage and direct security for a client or Fluor site. This position is
accountable for providing security management and oversight in accordance with the client requirements or jurisdiction. This role is responsible to create, execute, and monitor project security policies and procedures to safeguard property, plant, equipment, security information, intellectual property, and personnel.•Develops and maintains Center Safety Plan.
•Assists in developing and revising safety and security policies and procedures.
•Oversees the provision of fire protection; inspects Center facilities and eliminates (or recommends elimination of) fire and safety hazards; and conducts fire drills.
•Develops and supervises schedules for constant safety coverage.
•Provides orientation to new students regarding safety and security policies and practices.
•Provides safety and security coordination for Center activities.
•Acts as liaison between Center and local community as directed by Center Director.
•Investigates staff and student accident/injury reports; ensures reporting accuracy and timeliness to DOL.
•Maintains reports and related files; ensures their accuracy, current and complete information.
•Conducts searches and seizures when authorized; confiscates contraband, weapons, etc. and disposes of same according to legal and Center guidelines.
•Ensures the students’ civil rights are not violated during interrogation sessions.
•Ensures Center compliance with OSHA and other health and safety regulations.
•Responsible for all equipment and furniture in your assigned areas of work.
•Supports and adheres to the Zero Tolerance Policy.
•Maintains a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
•Supports Career Development Services System (CDSS) program.
•Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Basic Job Requirements
Associates degree in an appropriate discipline
Other Job Requirements 1. Expert computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations 2. Strong discretion and independence. 3. Effective oral and written communication skills. 4. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner. 5. High critical thinking/reasoning ability. 6. Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with senior management staff.
Preferred Qualifications Associates degree in an appropriate discipline plus three years’ experience in safety/security, at least one of which was in a supervisory capacity; or combination of education and experience with experience substituted on a year-for-year basis, plus demonstrated experience and knowledge of both safety and security principles; previous Law Enforcement/Safety background preferred. Job Corps experience preferred.
