Position Description/Requirements
Dow Corning seeks experienced EMTs for Safety/EMT & Security Specialist positions at our Mt Meigs, AL site.

The Safety/EMT & Security Specialist is responsible for providing safety, security, environmental governance and emergency response services to the site. This includes inspection and maintenance of equipment related to their job that provides protection to the people and property of the facility. This position is also responsible
for the development and dissemination of safety and emergency response training to employees. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities include:
• Maintain security access into the facility via control gates and visual awareness
• Support and coaching relevant to site safety standards for employees
• Inspection and maintenance of site fire protection equipment
• Maintain site emergency equipment and respond to emergencies as necessary 24/7
• Emergency response for Medical, Hazardous Materials, Fires and Security Incidents
• Provide site safety training to shift workers
• Environmental monitoring & key daily inspections for EHS governance
o Opacity readings (Smoke School thru ADEM) for furnace and Dust collector’s
o SWPP/SWCC
o Environmental sampling
• Incident Reporting & Initial Investigation interviews
• GIM’s Input and management (Global Incident Management System)
• Complete On boarding Training to include
o Visitor Orientation
o Contractor Safety Training
• Fitness for Duty to provide all required services of the position
• Confined Space Authorizer & Trainer
• Obtain Weighmaster Certification
• Operate and input Sample Manager data from the raw materials daily deliveries
• Perform all post order in the post order book

Qualifications include:
• Background in emergency response training preferred
• Currently hold Alabama Basic or Advanced, or National Registry EMT Certification
• Present and maintain a professional appearance
• Be dependable and flexible with work schedule
• Be on time and reliable in attendance
• Capable of working independently
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Able to work under demanding or stressful situations
• Good communication skills are critical, in addition to computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and specific Dow Corning computer software applications. Candidate must be able to adapt to learn new software applications

In addition, at least one of the following experience backgrounds are PREFERRED:
Security or Law Enforcement Training or Experience:
_ Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice (or)
_ Minimum of 2 years of industrial security or law
enforcement work experience (or)
_ A.P.O.S.T. certification (Alabama Peace Officer Standard and Training)

Fire Fighting Training/Experience:
_ Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science (or)
_ Fire Fighter I or II (or)
_ Previous experience as a fire brigade member (or)
_ NFPA 600 Level Advanced Exterior/Interior Certification

Hazardous Materials Training/Experience:
_ Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Hazardous
Materials (or)
_ Previous certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician
(or)
_ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science

Military Experience:
Relevant military experience will be considered as a substitution
for one of the requirements listed above. However,
military experience cannot be used as a substitute for EMT licensing.
