Job Description
The Regional Security Manager executes departmental strategies throughout Actavis in North America as assigned. Reporting to the Director, Global Security this postion will drive overall security programs and provide Global Security leadership to all assigned sites in the region to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in order to reduce financial loss to the organization in accordance with corporate structural direction.
Within the regional function, identifies significant security risks, designs and recommends strategies and programs to prevent and reduce loss of the organization’s assets. Develops and implements policies and programs in response to criminal financial loss, crime against persons, sabotage, threats, emergencies, illegal acts, and property or environmental crimes.
Coordinates and implements strategic initiatives, site security compliance, operational activities to ensure protection of executives, managers, employees, physical assets, intellectual properties and information assets, while ensuring optimal use of personnel and equipment.
Leads assigned subordinates by developing, communicating, and building consensus for goals and programs that support division, business unit and company objectives. Forecasts future departmental or group needs including human and material resources and capital expenditures. Determines and establishes organizational structure and supervisory relationships subject to top management approval.
Responsible for working with agencies and staff in managing the approach, and deployment of resources. Responsible for maintaining close relationships with law enforcement, intelligence and private sector counterparts. Identify and communicate risk and potential threats that may impact business operations. Provides direction for assigned special events and activities requiring Global Security support.
Strategically direct corporate security programs and initiatives and provide direction and support to regional business leaders. Provide regional advice to Global Security and Senior Leadership surrounding crisis management initiatives.
Manages and carries out investigations as directed, including but not limited to Ethics Code Infractions, workplace threats, theft, fraud, criminal acts, regulatory infractions, vendor fraud, counterfeited products, diversion and performs due diligence investigations as directed.
Qualifications Must demonstrate proficient use of professionally recognized computer applications such as Microsoft office and other Microsoft database applications. Must have knowledge and understanding of enterprise level security management solutions and tools. Experience in conducting security risk assessments, managing critical incidents or crisis, and conducting international investigations. Must be capable of developing and performing executive quality power point presentations and briefings. Must have extensive knowledge of general business risk intelligence best practices, and have a mature network of external resources in place.Travel approximately 20%. Ability to travel on occasion with little or no notice. Ability to work various work hours to accommodate local and US based operational business needs.
Education Must have 8-10 years of security experience with 5+ years in a leadership role, preferrably with in the pharmaceutical industry. Masters Degree preferred. CPP certification preferred.
