GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 8 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Systems Specialist to become part of our state of the art 300mm factory in Malta, New York.  The candidate for this position must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with   dynamic work priorities. Individuals interested in the position will be required to work and communicate with diverse groups of people including, but not limited to: customers, visitors, fellow employees and contractors. Applicants also must be prepared to work as a team and be capable
of meeting deadlines and milestones on a regular basis.  Individuals hired for this position will be expected to be on call at times, and often will need to work non-business hours to support a 24/7 manufacturing facility.

Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Support Corporate Security regulatory reviews and program implementations
  • Participate in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures surrounding various life safety systems
  • Operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of alarm systems including producing alarm metrics
  • Compile and Interpret security metrics associated with security incidents
  • Study trends in security metrics and provide recommendations to help mitigate risk
  • Trouble shoot and operate equipment used in the repair and maintenance of an enterprise access control system and integrated intelligent video systems
  • Support Site Emergency Response Team
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in Corporate Security
  • Experience with Software house CCURE 9000 Access Control System to include:  programming all aspects of CCURE 9000, running custom reports upon request, and the ability to train others on software
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with an intelligent network security video system including experience troubleshooting and installing Internet Protocol (IP) CCTV Cameras
  • Ability to work at times with a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends and extended work days and be on call at times
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities
  • Ability to work in a variety of work environments including, but not limited to (manufacturing work environment, chemical areas, clean rooms and construction site)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills
