Job Description:
This position reports directly to the site Manager of Quonset Point and the EB Director of Security.  The Manager of Security is a senior level position responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction for the Quonset Point Security and Fire Department organizations. The Manager will be responsible to oversee day to day activities and ensure compliance with all programmatic, regulatory, legal and contractual requirements for both areas.

Functional Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage all Quonset Point Security and Fire Department (routine and emergency) activities and responsibilities, including: Uniformed Security Operations, Security Compliance and Administration; investigations, special events and all functional responsibilities performed by the QPFD to support Operations and the facility.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement leadership and Government officials, including auditors and regulators (DSS, NAVSEA, Naval Reactors, SupShip, etc.).
  3. Responsible for ensuring that individuals are properly equipped and trained to perform in such a way, as to fully support and compliment the operational, schedule, strategic and business objectives of the company.
  4. Responsible that the organizations maintain a record of satisfactory compliance in the areas of physical security, Security Administration and compliance with all requirements of the National Industrial Security Program, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, and all local, state and federal laws.
  5. Capable of functioning to the optimal level under high stress/ emergency situations.  In this regard the Manager must assume a leadership role in managing serious threats or events involving risk of injury and/or loss of life, fire, damage and/or destruction of property or the penetration of the physical infrastructure.
  6. Oversee innovation and continuous improvement efforts.
  7. Assist with succession planning and talent professional development within the organization.
  8. Improve workforce capabilities by identifying needed training and development.
  9.    Establish and communicate work expectations; assesses overall workforce performance and productivity; and positively motivate the workforce.
Required Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree/advanced degree preferred
  • 7 years’ experience in the Industrial Security/Plant Protection field
  • Minimum 5 years of Supervisory/Managerial Experience
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Established/strong relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, NAVSEA, NR and SupShip
  • Strong reputation of performance, credibility and leadership
  • TOP SECRET
Unique/Additional Requirements:
Must be successful in developing and maintaining a relationship of trust and integrity with internal (QP) and external (DoD, DSS, NAVSEA, SupShip, NCIS, NR, GD Corporate) customers and stakeholders.

Must exercise excellent judgment when determining the actions, policies and procedures the Security and Fire organizations will take to contribute to the success of the business and performance on contracts.

Must be a proven leader and capable of representing Quonset Point as the senior Security official during the planning and execution of key company events including Open Houses, Keel Laying’s and all other events requiring liaison and coordination with internal QP organizations and external (local, state and federal) law enforcement and first responder organizations.

Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication capabilities including the ability to clearly, accurately and authoritatively interact and communicate under even the most stressful emergent situations and be capable of preparing and delivering formal presentations to senior QP and DoD officials.

Applicant must be granted a minimum of an interim top secret clearance prior to position commencing. They must be able to obtain and maintain a final top secret clearance to remain in that position.
